The Sunday XI fielded 4 father and son pairs and were perhaps a couple of regular senior batters and bowlers short on the day against a very good London Theatres side who batted aggressively and bowled tidily.
288 in 40 overs was a big ask for the home team and, when captain Toby Pheasant received a snorter which lifted off just short of a length and took the top of the splice before lobbying back to the grateful bowler and Harrison Ward skied to cover, there was too much for the remaining batsmen to do.
But a very enjoyable match in which all Brook players batted or bowled or both on a warm and sunny afternoon.
